Crazy Facts
Robert Peters was nearly eliminated several times in the tournament and only had $3,000 left and could not afford the big blind of $4,000 when we still had three tables of players.
• In only his second tournament ever, Chris Kulke finished tenth and will take his $590 and go back to his day job as a chiropractor. With all the sitting around and bad posture at a poker event like this, he should have waves of new customers.
Troy Westwood from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers went out 24th.
• Local Dweeb Matt Cundill went out 22nd, thinking his K/Q was a good hand to play against pocket 6’s. His thinking changed when a 6 turned up on the flop.
Jason Jaffrey from the Manitoba Moose was the last player eliminated in Friday night’s competition.
Susan Krepart (our does Power 97 weekend morning show) was the only female in the top 30 and finished 11th overall.
• Worst beat of the tournament: Hal Anderson getting eliminated in on Pocket Aces vs. Pocket Aces – there were four diamonds on the table – and Hal didn’t have the Ace of Diamonds.
