BEFORE: I was born right here in Winnipeg in 1984. Moved around a lot as a kid to a bunch of small towns. I prefer the city. I've been kicked by a horse and hauled around pails of urine used for cosmetics (think on that a while) so don't think I didn't get the whole experience.
Moved back to Winnipeg in 1996. That's when my love affair with rock music began. I was a metal head and grunge enthusiast. (Punk music and an appreciation for the classics came soon after.) Bands like Nirvana, Tool and Bad Religion were constanly blasting from my walkman. (Did you know they stopped making the walkman?) I started playing guitar and always dreamed of being in the music industry.
Anyway, high school happened and I thought I wanted to become a doctor. I even went to the U of M and got my B.Sc.
I hated it! I always wanted to be a guy who came home from work with a smile on my face. That's when I decided to go to broadcasting school. Then, I got my big break: an internship at The Big Rock Station!
After a few months of graveyard shifts, taking out the garbage and picking up Matt Cundill's lunch...
NOW: I'm the weekend afternoon guy on Power 97! I bring you the 90s Nooner and “Really Bad News” at 4:20 every Saturday and Sunday.
I'm a die-hard for the Bombers, Jets, Blue Jays and Steelers. Arnold Schwarzenegger is my favourite actor. There isn't a topic I don't have an opinion on. Honesty, integrity and apathy are all words I had to Google.
