Rules Announced For Campaign Signs
Campaign signs for October's civic election can be posted around Winnipeg starting Saturday. All campaign signage on public property must display on its face, the name and telephone number of the person responsible for placing the sign or causing it to be placed, and the date the sign was placed. Failure to comply with the by-laws may result in removal and destruction of signs.

Mayoral Candidate Calls For Transparency
Winnipeg Mayoral candidate Judy Wasylycia-leis says there are problems with transparency at city hall: Most recently, Wasylycia-leis says the city has failed to publically disclose information about a 30-year contract with a company over waste-water treatment.  She says it also refused to release certain details concerning Plan Winnipeg.

Four Escape Serious Injury In Virden Rollover
They got lucky. Early this morning Virden RCMP was called to the scene of a single vehicle rollover about 5 km south of the town.  The driver of a truck failed to make a turn causing it to rollover several times. The 23-year old was arrested for impaired operation of a motor-vehicle.  The three passengers suffered only minor injuries.

Woman Missing From St. Joseph
The RCMP in Manitoba have another missing person on their hands. Morris RCMP are trying to find 20-year old Stacey Thomas of St. Joseph. The woman left the family home August 23rd saying she was going for a walk.   No one has had contact with her since..other than a few electronic messages.  Police believe the woman may be in Winnipeg.   She's also considered a "vulnerable" person.

5 Injured In Crash Near Birds Hill
RCMP believe speed and road conditions may have played a role in a two vehicle head-on collision on highway 202 near Birds Hill Provincial Park this past Wednesday night. Police were called around 10:30.   A car driven by a 15-year old girl from Winnipeg collided with a truck driven by a 29-year old man from Selkirk.   Both vehicles were severely damaged,  and everyone involved was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
