Yes, Winnipeg-based Salisbury House has been sold. But don’t panic – it shouldn’t affect your Nip consumption in any way.
Sals, which has been around for 86 years, will now be run by Noel Bernier, who owns multiple restaurants in Winnipeg including Hermanos and Carnaval, along with Dave Filmon and the Metis Economic Development Fund.
“It has been a great experience to lead such an important Winnipeg institution,” Earl Barish, former owner said in a statement. “Noel and his team are well positioned to take Salisbury House to its 100th Anniversary and beyond as Manitoba’s Family Restaurant.”
Salisbury House has 19 delicious, nip-filled, red velvet-cakey locations around Manitoba for you to CONTINUE to enjoy!
