There’s a new study that shows the climate we grow up in plays a big part in shaping our personalty.
If you take two kids who have completely identical lifestyles – same type of neighbourhood, education, family life, etc. – but one lives in California and one lives in Manitoba, it’s said that the Californian will be more likely to be agreeable, open and emotionally stable, all because he grew up in a warmer climate.
I call bull… We’re called ‘friendly Manitobans’ and we literally live in one of the coldest cities on earth.
We know weather affects our mood. Sunshine and summertime (usually) makes people more happy and the cold, dark, times of year we feel more blah. But the study says it does a lot more than that in the long run and a warmer climate really will make us friendlier, more outgoing and more willing to explore new things.
