Around 25,000 volunteers are gearing up for another holiday season of getting people home safe.
Operation Red Nose officially launched on Friday and is running in 11 different communities around the province for the Holidays, including Winnipeg, Brandon, Flin Flon, Gimli, La Broquerie, Steinbach, Portage la Prairie, Selkirk, Shilo, The Pas and Thompson.
If you call for a ride, they’ll not only get you home safe, but your car as well. It doesn’t cost money, but donations are definitely encouraged since volunteers are collecting funds to help Manitoba youth.
Last year over 4,000 rides were given. But as we all know, impaired driving continues to be a problem. MPI says about 40 per cent of fatal crashes involve someone who was impaired.
