Bring your fur baby for a splash at one of three pools in Winnipeg this weekend!
Sadly, the countdown to the end of summer is on but before the pools close for the season, the City of Winnipeg and Fun Mountain are inviting dog owners to bring their furry friends to enjoy one last splash this weekend.
On Saturday, September 2nd, Fido is welcome at two City wading pools: Happyland at 520 Marion St. and Bruce Park at 1966 Portage Ave. Little dogs – less than 13 kilograms are welcome from 11 am to 1 pm while 1 pm to 3 pm is reserved for bigger dogs (over 13 kg). Pre-register by contacting 311. Dogs must have a valid city licence.
On Sunday, September 3rd, Fun Mountain is hosting their annual Paws in the Park event where the kiddie pool becomes a doggy pool from 12 pm to 6 pm. This event is a fundraiser for the Winnipeg Humane Society. For $20 per person and $5 per dog, you can your pet can enjoy the last day of the season at the waterpark. There will be doggy businesses on display, a hydration station, and treats. Plus dog themed games and activities including a “best trick” competition and a doggy fashion show.
City of Winnipeg non-heated outdoor pools close Sept. 1. but the five heated outdoor pools, the Freight House pool (unheated but free!) and spray pads will remain open for the duration of the long weekend and close September 4th.
