A couple months back I told you about a local gym that had built an obstacle course. These courses are a great way to shake up your workout routine, use different muscles than traditional gym workouts and they’re fun. You get to climb stuff! Part of the idea was to help people train for obstacle course races (OCR).
There used to be at least three OCRs in and around Winnipeg but this year it’s down to one.
However, the Spartan Race has heard our pleas and is exploring whether to bring their OCR back to Manitoba IF we can prove to them we are committed to making it a success. They need 2500 people to pre-register by the end of August. If they meet that number they will hold a Spartan Race in Bird’s Hill Park on October 7th.
“We’ve heard your battle cries and are ready to bring our rigs, ropes (and a whole lot of mud) to Manitoba. But Spartans, we need the community to come together to help to make it happen! Secure your spot for $0. If we hit 2500 registrations by our goal of August 31, 2017, we’ll bring a Spartan Race to Winnipeg! Your credit card will only be charged for a full registration (at the initial VIP pricing) if we meet our sign up goal. It’s in your hands now Spartans! Let’s do this! AROO!”
