The Foo Fighters have been teasing us these last few weeks. Testing out new material while on tour in Europe. Dropping a new track here and there while we wait with baited breath.
Their latest is a song called ‘Dirty Water’ which they premiered in Paris on July 3rd.
All this new material can surely only mean one thing. That a new album must be in the works.
Concrete and Gold, will include 11-tracks and is due for release on September 15th through Roswell Records/RCA Records. It’s the band’s ninth album following 2014’s Sonic Highways (and the 2015 EP Saint Cecilia).
According to a press release and this article the band is striving for and album where “hard rock extremes and pop sensibilities collide” and have enlisted pop producer extraordinaire Greg Kurstin (best know for his work with Adele, Sia, and Pink). It’s also been said that Grohl set out to create “Motorhead’s version of Stg. Pepper… or something like that”.
And of course, with a new album typically comes a new tour. While a slew of US dates have been announced for later this year there aren’t any Canadian ones… yet. Fingers Crossed.
