Remember when that guy was violently dragged off the United flight? of course you do. How could we forget?
Well, United Airlines just announced a HUGE policy shift for when they want you to give up your seat on a flight: Instead of having some dudes beat you up and drag you off the plane, the new plan is to throw a bunch of money at you. Not literally…
This is what they’re promising…
1. They’ll offer up to $10,000 to people willing to volunteer (hopefully they figure out what that word means) to give up their seat on overbooked flights.
2. If your bag is lost permanently, you’ll get $1,500, no questions asked.
3. And once you’re on a flight, you won’t be required to give up your seat . . . and they won’t bring in cops to remove you, “except in matters of safety or security.” THANK GOD.
Also, on a somewhat related note, the guy they dragged off the flight recently settled for an undisclosed amount. he probably got a HUGE payday.
