Have you ever heard of the band called Dispatch? Chances are that you probably haven’t if you primarily get your music from the radio. They were an independent American band that never signed with a major label, thus never got much mainstream radio play. But their underground presence was HUGE, and when they finally decided to call the band quits in 2002, they figured it would be nice to give their fans one final concert. They expected about 30,000 people to show up, and then ended up with over 100,000 fans from all over the world. It’s been called the largest concert ever by an unsigned band, and they released a documentary about the whole thing.
In the last handful of years, Dispatch has been playing shows and releasing albums again. They’ve got a new one called America, Location 12 coming out in June, and they’ve just released a new song to get us excited for the album. As soon as I heard this song, I knew that I wanted to share it with you.
Since we’re in ‘discovery mode’ with this very cool band that I think you should dig a little deeper with, I’ll give you the song that made me want to find out more about these guys way back in 2005. Pro Tip = Learn to play this on the guitar and sing it for girls to make them melt.
