It’s been a very exciting year for Manitoba jewelry company Park and Buzz.
First, their purple Radiance stud earrings were gifted to the 2017 Grammy Awards winners and presenters.
Tomorrow, celebs like Emma Stone, Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman, Viola Davis, Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris and Octavia Spencer, will receive baguette studs and necklace pair from the company.
Each of the pieces are handmade in the St. Andrews home of owner Amanda Park who recently moved from Saskatchewan to Manitoba.
You can own a piece of this year’s Grammy’s for just $35 or a piece of the Oscars for $215. Both products are available for sale on the company’s website.
The gift bags, as you’ve probably already heard are awarded to nominees in the best actor/actress, best supporting actress/actor and best director categories and will feature some 20 or so items that are valued at approximately $25, 000. This is actually the most modest the swag bags have been in recent years. In the past the gift bags included 80+ items valued at $100, 000 or more. And yes, if you’re wondering the celebrities do in fact have to pay tax on these items.
Park and Buzz won’t be the only Canadian product in the bag this year. Quebec company Bangarang’s Positive Cube is also featured this year.
Local companies have had a lot of luck lately landing in the hands of celebrities. In 2010 High Tea Bakery‘s Imperial cookies were part of the Golden Globes gift bag. In 2015 Coal & Canary candles were in both the Grammy and Oscar bags and in 2016 Shut Ur Pie Hole pie-in-a-jar were part of the Emmy swag bags.
