“I can’t believe it’s already been ten years since the last album”…pfft, that’s already old news. TOOL is now rapidly approaching the eleven year mark since they released 10,000 Days, and for some reason we’re still waiting with bated breath. Every time we see even the smallest update that even remotely hints at any progress, fans (myself included) start gossiping and spreading the news like wildfire. In speaking with Danny last night, he told me that the band has temporarily MOVED some of their gear into a larger space (across town) where MAYNARD is working on VOCALS for some of the new Tool material. I’m sure that he has already been doing this to some extent, but now he has more room to breathe and a better vocal booth.
How many songs he’s working on is still a mystery, but it’s well known that he doesn’t start doing vocals until the songs are almost completely written and arranged by the band. Could we be within 5 years of a new album?
