Melissa McCarthy returned to Saturday Night Live last night to reprise her Sean Spicer impersonation. In another very funny skit, the actor touched on the week’s White House happenings such as the appointment of a new Attorney General and Nordstrom’s pulling Ivanka’s fashion line. If you missed it last night – and because SNL skits can be notoriously hard to find online (and even more difficult to watch here in Canada) I’ve got the video for you below.
McCarthy’s return as the White House press secretary help Saturday Night Live reach it’s largest audience in six years. In fact, the new US President has provided such great fodder for the sketch comedy show that viewership is up 22% from last year, making this season their most watched in more than 22 years!
Another factor contributing to last night’s stellar ratings was Alec Baldwin’s now familiar impersonation of the President. Baldwin hosted the show for a record 17th time. Here’s his sketch about Trump taking the travel ban to court… The People’s Court.
Keep it up SNL. It’s nice to see you living up to your potential again.
