It’s the question many of us have asked: Do I really need to wash my new clothes before I wear them? The answer is YES, but maybe not for the reason you’re thinking…
Some people think they should or have to because other poeple may have tried them on. And maybe those people were nasty, but that’s not the case.
Apparently nasty bacteria and fungus from our bodies doesn’t transfer that well to fabric anyway, so you’re good in that sense.
The REAL reason you should wash new clothes before you wear them is because they may be coated with chemicals.
Sometimes companies spray them with preservatives like formaldehyde to prevent mildew while they’re being shipped.
So if you’ve ever had a rash from clothes, it’s most likely from that, not the rash-covered man who may have tried it on before you.
They say you should definitely wash ‘intimates’ before you wear them, like a bathing suit or lingerie. Your chances of catching something are slightly higher if your GROINAL (weird word) region comes into play.
I mean, I always ASSUME people keep their underwear on while trying those things on, because I do. But they probably don’t…
