THIS is an awesome story…
There’s a guy named Wayne in North Carolina who has been a die-hard Cubs fan his entire life. Not sure of the guy’s age, but he looks to be in his 60s.
Before this guy’s dad died in 1980, they made a pact to watch the World Series together when the Cubs FINALLY got there again.
So on Wednesday before the game, Wayne drove 600 miles from North Carolina to where his dad is buried in Indiana. Then he set up shop right next to his grave-site and listened to Game 7 with him on the radio.
Wayne brought a Cubs flag with him, which is the big white victory flag they put up at Wrigley every time they win a game.
When the game ended, he laid the flag right next to his dad’s headstone before he left.
