British scientists have made a breakthrough in the search for a male contraceptive pill.
For a very, very long time researchers have tried to come up with an alternative to condoms or a vasectomy, but there hasn’t been a lot of success.
Now UK scientists have found a way to make men temporarily infertile. YES! how do they do this? By switching off sperm’s ability to swim.
They’ve created these tiny compounds, which smuggle themselves into sperm and stop their little tails from wiggling. So, if a sperm can’t swim, it can’t fertilize an egg and there’s your magic birth control!
So you’re probably wondering how it works, and the answer is “very simply”.
You can take a fast-acting pill or get the contraceptive through a nasal spray.
Researchers believe its effects would wear off within a few days, so if said guy decides he wants to try for a little one a few days after, he’s good to go!
So not only would this be convenient for women because birth control is usually a PAIN IN THE ASS. But for guys, this is WAY more convenient (and more comfortable) than a condom.
This contraceptive is still in the trial phase but could be available for purchase by 2021!
