After a bumpy start for the new airline, NewLeaf is now up and running after its first flight left Hamilton at 9 a.m. and landed in Winnipeg.
The CEO says, “We believe we’ve got a good formula. A lot of the ultra low cost carriers that… operate around the world… we think that they’ve got it right and we’re focusing on that.”
NewLeaf will fly to 11 spots across Canada and is partnering with Flair Airlines, which will provide the planes, crew and maintenance. What many people don’t know, is NewLeaf isn’t really considered an ‘airline’. buy seats from a Kelowna charter service and re-sells those seats.
The flights ARE still cheaper than Air Canada or West Jet, but the fees add up quick…
