More than 50 former wrestlers are suing the WWE over brain injuries.
It’s pretty much the same as former football players suing the NFL, with one exception: The WWE treats its wrestlers as “independent contractors,” instead of “employees”.
That allows the WWE to, quote, “avoid liability under federal and state worker protection laws . . . [and leave the wrestlers with] no recourse to treat their damaged minds and bodies.”
Some of the wrestlers include: Road Warrior Animal, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, Paul “Mr. Wonderful” Orndorff, King Kong Bundy, and the One Man Gang.
