AC/DC Bassist Cliff Williams will retire after the band’s Rock or Bust tour.it seems it was the loss of three bandmates so quickly that pushed him to retirement.
“It’s been what I’ve known for the past 40 years, but after this tour I’m backing off of touring and recording,” He told Gulfshore Life. “Losing Malcolm, the thing with Phil and now with Brian it’s a changed animal. I feel in my gut it’s the right thing.”
Over the years, Cliff Williams contributed to 11-albums, which all went platinum or multi-platinum. Rock or Bust then peaked at No. 1 in 12 different countries.
“When you start out, you kind of hope for success,” He says. “That’s what you are working for. But you never really know. It’s been surreal, really.”
His retirement leaves Chris Slade as the most veteran member of AC/DC after Angus – of course – who co-founded the band in ’73.
