Three names will be added to the Bombers’ Hall of Fame this fall, including the team’s longtime radio play-by-play voice.
680 CJOB’s Bob Irving will be inducted into the builder category during the Bombers Hall of Fame Legacy Dinner on September 21.
Irving became part of the Bombers broadcast crew after joining CJOB in 1973. In 1977 he was inducted into the Football Reporters of Canada section of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. In 2014 he received the Order of Manitoba along with the Hugh Campbell Distinguished Leadership Award in 2015.
After the stadium opened in 2013, the Bombers named the press box at Investors Group Field in honour of Irving. He’s also a member of the Manitoba Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association Media Roll of Honour.
Being inducted alongside Bob Irving is linemen John Helton and Bob Molle.
