A gorilla was shot over the weekend at the Cincinnati Zoo.
A 4-year-old boy slipped through the bars and was stuck in the enclosure with the 400 pound gorilla. Cameras caught some of the incident on video, which doesn’t show anything graphic, but appears to show the gorilla trying to help the boy stand up.
Zoo officials felt the child was in danger and didn’t trust that a tranquilizer would work, so they shot the gorilla. Harambe was a 17-year-old endangered gorilla.
The question on everyone’s mind: Where was this kid’s parents? Even if there wasn’t a giant gorilla in the enclosure, this kid fell down a huge drop into the enclosure, and this animal was shot because of it.
