Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg may have spotted their next project.
The duo are in talks to produce a live-action adaptation of Where’s Waldo for MGM through their Point Grey banner. James Weaver will also produce.
Classic Media, which was acquired by DreamWorks Animation in 2012, owns the franchise rights to the books and will work with MGM on production.
The bespectacled young man with a proclivity for red-and-white stripes was created by English illustrator Martin Hanford in 1987. Where’s Waldo books have sold over 55 million copies and have been translated into 38 different languages.
Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir, who both worked on the screenplay for the Rogen-starrer The Night Before, will be charged with adapting the classic character.
Point Grey just wrapped production on the James Franco-directed The Disaster Artist, and the production company’s upcoming feature Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising will hit theaters this May.
