Dave Grohl has spoken about performing with Beck at a pre-Grammys party over the weekend.
Beck teamed up with Grohl and his other living members of Nirvana, guitarist Pat Smear and bass player Krist Novoselic, to pay tribute to David Bowie at the event on Sunday (February 15). The makeshift band covered Bowie’s ‘The Man Who Sold The World’.
Speaking to Billboard following the performance, Grohl said that he hadn’t wanted it to end so they ran through extra takes in rehearsals.
“We ran through the song a few times and got it down,” he said. “I was the one who cued [the musicians] when to stop, but I just didn’t want it to stop, so we played it again and again and again even though it all sounded fine.”
Grohl also confirmed that it was the first time he had ever performed with Beck.
