A pair of Scottish credit card scammers went on a bender to celebrate their ill-gotten gains and woke up the proud owners of three stoves, 1,100 lbs. of fish and a rental jet.
Jamie Abernathy, 46, and Brian Darroch, 35, recently pleaded guilty to conspiracy and fraud for stealing credit cards information from a gym.
But it was their celebration that shocked the court – one that arguably rivals the antics of characters in The Hangover.
After treating themselves to a hotel room and a big meal, the men started drinking.
By the end of the night, they had ordered the stoves, and rented the jet to fly them to Elstree — Britain’s Hollywood.
The pair couldn’t remember what inspired them to buy $70,000 worth of fish and seafood from a seafood wholesaler.
“Good Heavens,” judge Ian Leeming reportedly exclaimed in Burnley Crown Court, reports the U.K. Daily Mail.
