Tomorrow you may turn on your tap and find dirty water flowing out. The city will be inspecting a water feeder main, to do so, it must be shut off. Because of this, Western parts of the city may be stuck with brown water. The areas most likely to be affected are Daniel McIntyre and St. James from Wellington Ave. to Wolseley Ave. and Dominion St. to St. James St. River Heights area may also be brown from Wellington Crescent to Corydon and from Waverley to Kenaston.
If you have brown water flowing from your tap tomorrow, avoid drinking it, cooking with it, and definitely don’t wash your whites! It won’t kill you to drink it, but it doesn’t taste good and it may ruin your clothes. Turn on a cold water tap and let it run for a few minutes. If the water still isn’t clear, shut it off and wait about 30 minutes then try again. If it’s brown for more than three hours, contact 311.
