Yesterday the Calgary Flames showed off their concept for a new arena and Stadium for themselves and the Stamps. Just in time because the Saddledome is a dump. Check out some concept art.
Looks interesting. The plan would cost $900 million. Gulp. Oil money, you guys. If it goes through, it certainly won’t be the only new NHL arena this decade. Assuming Las Vegas gets their expansion team (and does anyone think they won’t?) they’ll play out of this arena…
Well. That’s pretty unbelievable. Here’s where construction on that was this past spring.
Vegas’ potential expansion cousins, Quebec City are hard at work on an arena of their own.
The Oilers are also working on a new arena.
Finally, while not an arena exactly, True North Square in downtown Winnipeg is going to be awesome! (P.S. the narrator in this video sounds like he’d be a super great guy doesn’t he?) (P.P.S It’s me!)
