I love kids, no matter what Jay says on the radio, I love them. Unless they are misbehaving and parents aren’t doing anything about it…
Picture this: You’re out eating dinner and a 2 year old starts crying. You think to yourself, it’ll be over soon, mom or dad will try to comfort the baby. But what if it continues for about 40 minutes? That happened in a diner in Maine and the owner Darla Neugebauer was pushed to her limit by the screaming child. “I slammed my hands on the counter and said, ‘This needs to stop!’ And she looked at me, and she stopped.” Neugebauer told WCSH-TV that the parents ordered three full-sized pancakes for the child but ignored her, and claims they didn’t feed her after she was served.
As you can imagine the response from the internet was swift and predictably negative at first.
But also people are standing up for the owner.
Now everyone was quick to voice their opinion, however there is a twist to the story. The diner owner responded to a Facebook post the mom put on the Marcy’s Diner page and it wasn’t nice. Or professional. See the exchange.
So while I think the parents were being discourteous to everyone else in the dinner and should have calmed the baby, taken it outside, or got their food to go, I DO NOT agree with the way the response was handled. It was distasteful, unprofessional and just rude. So who is in the right here?
