Allexis Siebrecht has been struggling with Biliary Atresia, a type of liver disease, since she was three months old. She’s had eight surgeries in the past two years. She also has a rare O-blood type, which makes finding a match more difficult. Allexis’ family can be uprooted to Toronto at any minute, should a match be found. So her family has started a gofundme campaign to help with financial support – and people from all over are reaching out (I posted just a couple of examples below). So, if people can reach out from across Canada to help this Winnipeg girl, let’s match that and find Allexis a match.
So while Eugene Melnyk may have been able to use his position to quickly find a donor, we can use an entire city to do the same. Can you save Allexis’ life?
Matthew: Hello. My Name Is Matthew Lake. I am 15 years old, and am soon to get my blood type tested. and if i am indeed O- i will go to get tested to see if i am a match for Allexis. Stay strong allexis. and if im a match, i look forward to giving it to you. Sincerely, Matthew Lake.
Claudia: I live in Oakville, so about 35mins west of downtown Toronto. I know it’s not across the street but if I can help with accommodation in any way, please let me know.
