With David Letteman’s final show fast approaching there’s been more and more buzz about who his guests will be.
We found out this afternoon that Eddie Vedder will be the final musical guest. More specifically Eddie Vedder with Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra on Monday night.
Vedder has performed dozens of times during Letterman’s 30-year run as host of the Late Show. His first performance was in February 1996 after Letterman routinely butchered the chorus of Pearl Jam’s “Black.” Vedder eventually showed up to sing the song himself with the backing of Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra.
With many artists returning to the Late Show in recent weeks to recreate their first performances on the show one can only assume that Eddie et al. will perform “Black.”
Monday night’s episode will also feature Tom Hanks, who will be making his 60th appearance on the show. Bill Murray will stop by on Tuesday night for his 44th appearance. No guests have been announced for Wednesday night’s finale, but CBS promises “an hour filled with surprises.”
