Three Cream films from the 60’s and 70’s are going to be packaged in a box set slated for a May 4th release. The first movie features the entire band, one will focus on singer/bassist Jack Bruce and the last will centre on drummer Ginger Baker.
The box includes DVD editions of Cream’s Farewell Tour at the Royal Albert Hall from 1969, 1970’s Rope Ladder to the Moon featuring Bruce and Ginger Baker in Africa With Fela Ransome-Kuti from 1971. All three movies were shot by Tony Palmer, the director who helped make Frank Zappa‘s 200 Motels.
The Royal Albert Hall show was Cream’s last planned concert on November 26, 1968.
Also included in the box are some bonus recordings from each of the three band members.
All three films have been remastered. After all, they’re 40+ years old.
